2017 Annual Alumni Reunion And MSU Weekend

Pizza Party, Friday October 6th, Honor Roll Dedication and MSU game, Saturday 7th, and Golf at U of M Course, Sunday 8th

Meeting and mingling with former classmates is, of course, the chief reason for attending this year’s reunion. But there are other important considerations. First of all, we will be unveiling the fundraising Honor Roll to be permanently located in a selected location in the chapter house. It will commemorate those brothers who have donated $1,000 or more, thus making the new chapterhouse a reality. Second, it’s 125th anniversary of the chapter’s presence on the UofM campus and, third, it’s the bicentennial of the founding of the University of Michigan, our beloved alma mater, in 1817. And, fourth, its football game will be the always-exciting UofM-MSU matchup. (We look forward to making it two victories in a row.)

Friday evening will feature a pizza party at the new chapter house from 7 to 10 PM or later. The gathering will be an opportunity for you to visit with former classmates and enjoy a libation of your choice. On Saturday a luncheon will be served before the main event—unveiling of the Honor Roll plaque, which will take place before UofM-MSU kick-off. Alums who have suites and rooms named in their honor can arrange for room tours and meet the actives occupying their room.

With Jim Harbaugh’s reinvigorated football program, football tickets to the UofM-MSU game will be difficult to obtain. In fact, the alumni association is unable to supply any tickets this year. (Likewise, John Stinson is unable to provide tickets, if you have requested them.) One will have to go to a website such as Stub Hub and pay the price. However, there will be a raucous gathering at the chapter house to watch the game on its big-screen TVs!

Following the game, common-era brothers can join one another for dinner at one of Ann Arbor’s many fine restaurants. And, weather permitting, we will arrange tee times at UofM’s iconic Blue Course on Sunday morning.

Hotels rooms in Ann Arbor are difficult to book and expensive when found. However, we have reserved 25 rooms at the Comfort Inn in nearby Chelsea at the special rate of $154/night. This location, 20 minutes west of Ann Arbor, proved to be both convenient and comfortable for last year’s reunion. Please make your reservations soon by calling 734-433-8000 and referencing “Delta Chi Fraternity Alumni”.

We look forward to revisiting the new chapter house with you. It’s a modern, spacious, and clean facility that you and your guest will enjoy.
