What’s Your Favorite Memory?

Thanks to John Burkhardt ’63 for this submission:

It was a warm spring evening, and the Kappas (I think) were coming over to serenade us. They must have had some kind of event at their house, as they were all dressed in their finest white dresses. No raggedy shorts or tee shirts this night. We had a 55 gallon drum on the roof, and, wouldn’t you know, somebody thought it might hold water, spicket and hose being readily available up there. At that time the roof was flat, and you could roll the drum clear to edge of the porch roof, over where the Kappas might be raising their sweet voices to us humble, appreciative fellows. You know how many Kappas 50 gallons of water can soak when it falls 15 feet or so and lands on the ladies and hits concrete? Pretty much ALL of them. For some reason, end of serenade!
