Dear Delta Chi Brother,
I am excited to share the new chapter house project with you. Your fundraising team has started the “All Alumni” phase of the campaign. You may recall, we need to raise $1 million to secure our legacy and build our future. As a result of the initial campaign work, 24 brothers have committed $463,000 towards building the new house! WOW!!!
You should have received a post card showing the new house rendering. Shortly, you will receive a detailed brochure about the project. Watch for it in your mail. I think you will be impressed with the work of the design team as you see the latest conceptual drawings of the chapter house. Please read it before you thoughtfully consider the amount of your pledge.
This first ever capital campaign will replace our 108-year-old, obsolete house at 1705 Hill Street with one properly suited for needs of 21st century Delta Chi fraternity life.
Now is the time:
• The chapter has never been stronger, 55 actives
• Greek life at Michigan is thriving
• A chapter house is central to fraternal bonding
• The house will be a major recruiting asset
As brothers of Delta Chi, each of us pledged to “sustain my commitment and involvement with our fraternity throughout my lifetime”. This fundraising initiative is not a charity… rather it is our responsibility to provide a house for future generations of brothers… just as others did for us!
All this would not have been possible without the creativity, commitment and hard work of your fundraising team. The Michigan Delta Chi’s owe a deep debt of gratitude to these brothers:
• Chris Bence ’10, “BB” chapter liaison
• David Falconer ’62, marketing plans, communications, solicitations
• Bryan Glesmann ’15, chapter alumni relations officer
• Keith Hellems ’62, historical communications, decade leadership, solicitations
• Alan Knaus ’66, Alumni Board of Trustees
• John Levinson ’73, Alumni Building Corp, house design team leader
• Dan Maher ’76, donation deductibility lead
• Frank Morrey ’64, membership, reunions, communications, solicitations
• Jeff Schoenherr ’91, fundraising strategy
The new chapter house initiative is less about building the house and more about the joining together of generations of Michigan Delta Chi’s to support our chapter, maintain our proud legacy and forge our future for generations of new brothers.
Thanks, in advance, for your fraternal support of this historic campaign and your pledge toward the new chapter house.
