Chris Bence ’10: Working Hard, Playing Harder & Giving His Best

While Chris spent only 16 months actually living in the house, it is difficult for him to name any brothers with whom he has lost touch. His undergraduate brotherhood was a close-knit family whose days were filled with social events, service, and, most importantly, quieter times of just hanging out and mentoring younger brothers. Bob spent the majority of his college years living with his fraternity Brothers in the Delta Chi house.  In fact, of the six years he devoted to the University of Michigan, only two short years were spent living in the dorms.  He fondly remembers the small, tight-knit group of brothers having a good time together.

Barry Charles Wood ’61 Needed Only the Warmth of His Brothers

Looking back in time to his days at the Delta Chi house brings back so many wonderful memories.  “It was a time to live life to the fullest and come together in brotherly friendship, which I believe we did successfully.”  He made so many good friends, a number of whom are still alive and kicking, and with whom he still remains in contact.

John Jenkins ’57 Spreads His Love of Music Worldwide

John’s fondest memories from Michigan are the friends he made there—Delta Chi brothers, Marching and Symphony Band colleagues, and several who shared both.  Since the “fifties” reunion he has enjoyed reconnecting with even more brothers.  Soon after, he learned of the campaign to build a new Delta Chi house; he dedicated a room to the memory of his Delta Chi roommate and band friend Russell Jack, Jr. who, like John, was a lifelong music educator.
