City Approves New House Site Development Plan

The Ann Arbor City Council unanimously approved our site development plan on August 7. Congratulations to all who made this possible! A preliminary estimate based on these site drawings indicates the project remains within the original goal of $2.5 million including furnishings and on schedule for the construction start in May 2015. All gifts of $10,000 or greater are federal tax deductible via the DX Education Foundation.

Funding pledges stand at $665K against the required $1 million. Remember all the good times at the house and the things we all learned by living together. Let’s give that same opportunity to scores of future Michigan Delta Chis! We must complete this project to replace the costly, functionally obsolete house with a modern, efficient new chapter house for future Delta Chis. The project is in the hands of the 375 brothers who have not yet pledged their support. NOW IS THE TIME, brothers, to pledge the remaining $335K.

John Levinson and the Alpha design team are working to refine the design and cost estimates based on input from major subcontractors. Separately, preliminary discussions are underway with four financial institutions to understand their requirements and possible loan terms.

Thank you to everyone for your donations and hard work to date!! Email me directly if you are interested in making a pledge.
