March Madness Makes the Big Bucks!

This semester, Delta Chi presented the Third Annual March Madness Tournament as our philanthropy event with all of our proceeds going to the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research. We set a $2000 goal, as last year’s event raised about $1500.

We asked students, parents, alumni, etc. to participate in our event by either donating to the foundation, or by purchasing a bracket for the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament. The participant with the best bracket won a prize of a Michigan basketball jersey, with second place winning a Starbucks gift card.

We were very fortunate- and excited- to have earned just under $3,000 this year! We ended up surpassing our original philanthropy goal by 50%. To add to this total, we may be receiving up to another $1500 in donations at a later date.

We are very proud of the success of the event, and even more honored to be able to assist the Jimmy V Foundation. We hope that we can continue the growth of this event, spread it around campus even more, and surpass this amount next year.

I would like to thank all of those who contributed to our efforts!
