Update: Chapter House Projects

The Alumni Association of the Michigan Chapter of Delta Chi wants to say “Thank you” to those brothers who contributed more than $4,750 in 2020 to help fund the association’s projects at the chapter’s new fraternity house 1705 Hill Street. With your assistance, in this past year we were able to install new outdoor picnic tables. These tables have proven quite popular, as outdoor activities became both a priority and a necessity, because of the coronavirus pandemic. We also upgraded the house’s Wi-Fi System. This upgrade also was a must, as our active brothers were forced to move online for most of their classes.

Looking ahead, we are continuing our fundraising drive for the Composite Wall project. This project will be located on the first floor and it will display the 10”x14” composites for all the years from 1950 to date.  We plan to have one row for each decade (e.g. 1960s). See the attached photo for an example.

This initiative requires $10,000 to complete. Your assistance in donating dollars will be appreciated. And, your personal composite picture may be needed as well.

Brother Hellems (’62) has recently described the years needed to complete the composite project. He needs anything from the 1950’s since almost all have water damage and many are missing. We also need composites from: 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1966, 1967, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1982/83, 1987/88, 1991/92, 1997/98 and 1998/99. We have most of the other years, including those in the 1910’s and 1920’s. (If you need your composite returned, Keith will scan it at high resolution and then return it to you via FedEx.)

Remember, you can always send your gift, made payable to Delta Chi Alumni Corporation, to alumni-association treasurer John Levinson (‘73), 8770 Oak Beach Drive, Commerce Township, MI 48382.

Thank you for your continued support!
