Project Aims to Strengthen the Bonds of Lifelong Friendship

The Alumni Association of the University of Michigan Delta Chi urges all alumni to rekindle the friendships formed as a member of the Michigan Chapter of Delta Chi. Life-long friendships represent the backbone of the alumni association. Our goal is to strengthen the existing ones and rekindle the faded ones. As part of this program we are working on updating our records. We solicit your help with the project as outlined below:

(1) The project initially will identify who has and where are the ORIGINAL yearly composites. We want to collect them at one site, make any repairs, and then put them up in the new Delta Chi house. Many of the originals were removed over the years by brothers who wanted to protect them.

(2) digitize every composite using the original composite AND also the smaller ones that brothers bought as keepsakes. This might require brothers to digitize them or send them to me for digitization with the promise that the pictures will be returned quickly.

(3) Making a list of all officers over the years including president, V.P., treasurer, recording secretary, corresponding secretary, sgt. at arms, member at large, alumni representative, bbt president. chef (if in the picture) and dog. I could send what we have so far if you want.

(4) We also want to gather as many skins and paddles as we can find. Many of these we’re taken by brothers over the years in order to insure their survival. We are now soliciting their return for the NEW fraternity house.

(5) We want as many pictures from your respective era that we can find. Either you digitize them or send them to me for digitization. I will return them immediately.

Many brothers are involved in this effort — I will be the focus person for the present to just monitor this project. Al Knaus has collected many of the composites so far, but quite a few are in bad shape. Frank Morrey is also a major keeper of various Delta Chi information.
