The Walls Are Going Up …We’re Almost There, but the Goal Has Moved … WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW!

Last spring, we were within $100K of our fundraising goal of $1.0M for our new chapter house. Over the summer, another $54K was pledged, bringing us to within $46K of our goal. I stand in awe of the 136 brothers who have helped us get this far so quickly … THANK YOU!

Also over the summer, the goal moved to $1.1M. Why? The recent construction cost estimate indicates that the final number for a completed and furnished house will be $3.0M-3.1M vs. the original $2.7M. We have secured a $2M construction loan and need to be prepared to fund the high-side cost. Any “extra” donations will reduce the final loan carrying cost, allowing for lower rents for the actives. Anything past donors can do to help close the gap is greatly appreciated.

The active chapter has done an outstanding recruiting job with 25 associate members (AMs) activated in 2014-15 and an AM class of 27 this fall. The remaining 435 brothers need to step up to help finish the campaign.

I am sure your rational brain can identify many reasons for not giving. However, if you analyze it, isn’t it easy to recall the fraternal spirit you experienced and how it helped your ability to earn a livelihood? Remember, other brothers paid for the house in which you had those experiences … you paid nothing for that capital investment.

We have made it easy:

  • Donations can be spread over 2 years.
  • Gifts of $1,000+ will place your name on the permanent plaque honoring the group that “made it happen.”
  • Gifts of $10K+ are tax deductible.
  • Donations of stock can be accepted.

I am asking you to join with the donating brothers and pay it forward. Rejoin your fraternity by supporting our capital campaign. Tell me you want to be a charter member of “the total rebirth of Delta Chi Michigan.” A pledge of just one dollar a day over the next three years will do it. Please CLICK HERE and fill out the Pledge Agreement and click “send.” It’s that easy.

The dreams of many alumni and the promises to past decades of actives will finally be realized when 1705 Hill Street is again opened to the brothers returning in August 2016. With this opening, the rich heritage of our Delta Chi Chapter, founded in 1892, will continue throughout the 21st century. The brotherhood of a lifetime bond continues!
